Keith Lee began his musical studies at the Julius Hartt Conservatory of Music in Hartford, Connecticut. Later, after moving to California he obtained his Master's Degree in Music Composition at California State University, studying with Justus Matthews, Martin Herman, and David Felder. He then continued his studies with computer music research in Paris at IRCAM, working with composers Philippe Manoury and Tristan Murail. His musical influences are wide-ranging and include western classical music, eastern musical thought and traditions, and various ethnic musics.
He has composed numerous works for both soloists and diverse ensembles, along with electronic music.
